12U, Co-ed

This is the program for 12U players who wish to practice 3x week and really focus on water polo skills. There are two practices each week with the other 12U players from A4L and one practice with older players who will help with the application of the skills that this group is beginning to master.

When we play games against other clubs, and in traveling tournaments, this is the group that will be looked at first to field the 12U teams from Bushido. This group is still part of the developmental stream and philosophy of LTAD and it values teaching physical literacy over competitive outcomes in a game. However the players in this group will focus more on the application of the skills as they develop them.

Athletes in this age group may be invited to participate with the 14U teams in local or away competitions. Practices are held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening. Refer to our schedule for times.

14U, Gender Specific

This is the program for 14U players who wish to practice 3x or 4x per week and really focus on water polo skills. When we play games against other clubs, and in traveling tournaments, this is the group that will be looked at first to field the 14U teams from Bushido. This group is part of the competitive foundations level of the LTAD. Practices are very skill based for this group and they are starting to apply their skills in more competitive settings.

Athletes in this age group may be invited to participate with the 16U teams in local or away competitions and will be encouraged to participate in Water Polo Canada's 14U National Championship League.

Each practice will include a 30 minute Dryland component. This is an introduction to the strength training program offered to our older athletes. Practices are held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening. Refer to our schedule for times.
